Kidnapped by rebels while serving as a humanitarian aid worker in Chechnya, Signe Kincaid has spent the past decade secreting out valuable information about Russian assets in the US to her CIA handler. Fearing for her daughter after being discovered as an operative, Signe sends her to former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones for safekeeping. Signe is ready to give her life for her country, and she can hardly expect Ham to rescue her after breaking his heart over and over.
Hamilton Jones has never forgotten the only woman he loved–and he can’t believe after all these years she’s shown up alive. But can he forgive her for her secrets? And, when Ham discovers the reason Signe has kept her distance, he must choose between love for her and love for the nation he has vowed to protect.
Will he save the many? Or the few? And what is the price of valor?
I had tears in my eyes while in the last pages of this story. It was so beautiful and captivating. God’s love and grace illustrated in the pages of this book was so overwhelming and enriching.
I felt Signe pain with her, her story was just the highlight of this book. Vet relatable and true. Ham’s heart and love was so touching, kind and sweet. A man of honor, a warrior who always went back for and after those he loved.
Orion and Jenny’s lives was second chance in its finest.
Meeting the Marshalls again was so exciting and thrilling. They brought their signature fearlessness and camaraderie into the story.
The faith lessons in this book are so apt and pictured like I’ve never seen before. Page after page was action, suspense, intrigue and a lot of game.
Susan May Warren is indeed a master at action and romantic suspense books.
I received a copy of this book from Revell and this is my honest opinion.
