The sequel to Six Years And A Quarter Way Through, After The Prodigal Returned, is a relevant tale about the guilt that condemns and the remorse that leads to repentance.
Leah Albanese thought the hard part was over. Little did she know it had only just begun. It’s been seven months since Leah heeded God’s voice and returned home to the life she was all too happy to flee. She quit Star Quality, the reality show that was her best and possibly last chance at stardom. Leah gave back the six-carat diamond engagement ring and sent Trenton Shaw packing.
When filming for the reunion episode brings familiar faces back into her life, some welcome some not, Leah begins feeling the same tugs at her heart that led her to stray from God in the first place. Can Leah resist temptation, or will she go back to the things, future, and fiancé she gave up?
Leah came back. She never imagined staying would be the real challenge. What happens after the wayward daughter returns home?

EXCERPT
I was wildly attracted to Trent—every woman is. He’s painstakingly handsome. He’s six feet two inches with smooth ebony skin, perfectly squared jaw, broad shoulders, and luminous chocolate eyes full of mystery. If you can move past his attractiveness, there’s his energy to contend with. It’s untamed and exciting. You never know what he’s going to do next, and when he looks at you—into you—there’s nothing you won’t agree to, just to make sure he never stops looking. A more irresistible man I’ve never met.
I like to think it took a lot of convincing and manipulating on Trent’s part to get me to join a reality show, become a social media vixen, and turn my back on my friends, family, and beliefs. Truth is, he didn’t have to try that hard. I wanted what he was offering; that I didn’t agree with how he wanted to give it to me didn’t matter nearly as much. Only, deep down it did.
To be fair, I started spiraling before Trent, evident in that I ignored the big neon trouble sign flashing over his head. If I hadn’t been ripe for the picking, I would have known him for what he is. A lie. The kind of lie you convince yourself into believing because no matter how wrong the boy is for you, you’re going to be with him anyway. Imagining he’s not so bad—that you can change him—makes you feel better about the mistake you’re about to willingly make. That kind of frailly constructed mirage usually falls apart quickly. Trent and I were no exception.

I don’t know why, but to me the cover determines whether I’ll pick up a book and even without knowing about the story, I would pick this one up.
