SEASON OF HOPE. CHRISTMAS NOVELLA SPOTLIGHT.

One of my absolute delight as a reader and blogger is discovering new authors. Helping promote their books is humbling as well as exciting for me. Then one with settings of Christmas time is an absolute delight because Christmas time is my favourite time of the year. You need to see the Christmas themed books I’ve have stacked to read in December! Without further ado meet Season Of Hope by Laura Selinsky

BOOK BLURB
The Christmas lights in the mission’s front window are burning a little dim. So is Pastor
Nick Mayfield’s hope. Managing a down-on-its-luck mission in a tough neighbourhood in
Philadelphia isn’t easy, and not for the first time, he questions his decision to leave a
promising law career to follow his calling.
Across the street, Claudia Delacorte works day and night in her abusive stepfather’s
store. She’ll do anything to assure her beloved half-sisters have a happy and safe future,
even sacrifice her own happiness. So when the new pastor shows interest in her, she
scoffs at his naïve overtures—she doesn’t have time for love. Or Christmas.
But when a series of crimes throw the neighbourhood into turmoil, Claudia becomes an
easy target. During a robbery gone horribly wrong, Nick and Claudia must work together
to save her sisters, the store, and each other. Will this tragedy restore hope to their
community? Or will they lose everything they’ve fought so hard to keep?

OH MY GOD! Isn’t this cover STUNNING?

When asked about what she hopes her readers to gain from her novella:

“What I want for my readers is first the simple pleasure of a sweet story to break up the breathless rush of Thanksgiving-Christmas-New-Years that often overtakes women. My second wish is that my readers remember that the “hope” in Season of Hope is that Jesus offers us new beginnings, even when our mistakes or others’ hurtful choices seem to have us trapped.”

When I asked for an excerpt she provided this quote and I love it.
“(Claudia) saw the mission’s Christmas lights flick on, small lights but brave against the dark. Tonight light shone inside her for the first time since her mother died. Small faith but brave against the dark.”
